Skip Commercials means after downloading, run a program called "comskip" that attempts to remove commercials from your shows.

Each of these can also be set/changed for each individual download or subscription

These are options that affect the individual downloads. These are grouped in two main groups: the Recording/Metadata handling options which apply to each individual download and the General settings that apply to the entire program: Recordings Preferences Note that these options apply to any new downloads/subscriptions, but once it's in the queue, or subscribed, you can change these options and not affect ones in progress. These can also be set in the "Preferences" screen. The "Options" menu lets you set many of the download parameters quickly. In addition to the Format/Download directory choices above, you can set many other options. The Video Formats decision is complicated, so we've created a separate page for it. The two most important configuration parameters are on top of the screen: the video format to create and the Download Directory location where to store the resulting videos.

I have sent an email with my two cents worth to Tivo referencing an already open ticket regarding the file transfer problems.Configuration How to configure cTiVo operationĪlthough cTiVo should be easy to approach and use, it is also intended to be very configurable, letting the user set things up just the way they want. So I am downloading using Ctivo and will save the programs to my Plex server. However, I hold out little hope that they will push a fix before my 30-day money back guarantee on the Roamio is gone.

It is great to hear that Tivo is working on the problem and has reproduced it. Since this process is unreliable and intermittent, and it is very tedious to determine if a failure has occurred, and there is no useful workaround for me, I have given up on it. I haven't tested all of the transferred files. Usually the first set (and usually at about 10-12 minutes as others report), or some at the second set. All of the failures I have observed fail at the beginning of a set of commercials. My PBS files appear fine, but anything with commercials is subject to failure-most of them have the bug. I have not yet tried downloading a show that doesn't work on the Tivo using CTivo to see if the downloaded copy works.ĭoes anyone have an easy way to find out if a show is broken on the Tivo after file transfer-other that fast forwarding through it?Ĭlick to expand.I have transferred quite a few files from my Roamio TE4 to my new Bolt Vox TE4. Using Ctivo, even shows that are truncated when watching on the Tivo, show as the proper length. I have tested a few shows using fast forward. Each time, the show stopped at a point where a 'skip' command would place the show, that is, at the end of a sequence of commercials. Everything seemed to go well, but then I tried to watch a show. I was able to get One Passes to transfer easily.Īfter finally get file transfer to work, again following Tivo Support's suggestion, I copied only five files at a time. Lots of problems getting file transfer to work at all-until I followed Tivo support's suggestion of forcing Tivo network connection twice on each box, then rebooting each box, file transfer did nothing.

I have 186 shows to copy from Roamio Pro to new Bolt Vox. One good thing - the Tivo Stream functionality is perfect, much better than my old Slingbox. I figure when I get through everything once, I can stop the old Tivo and go through to weed out To Do List entries and duplicates that have already happened. To make matters worse, through a moment of stupidity, I have them both in the same location, so I have to watch what commands I send from the remote, so I can't shoot them from the To Do List (assuming I can).

True whether I move things around on the PC or not. This reminds me how the Tivo Desktop always fetches new copies of old shows, even when it has already transferred the whole file. I now have the entire contents of my old Tivo scheduled to go over a second time, per the To Do List. Then it stopped for some reason, maybe because I suspended the laptop from which I ran it, and I saw nothing in my To Do List.

I had 33% of 2Tb to transfer, and it started up when I expressed that I wanted everything transferred. I have to say that transferring season passes/OnePasses went super well, but I am cussing the show transfer. I got an offer to transfer my lifetime sub to a Bolt 500Gb last week, and have upgraded it to 3Tb and am transferring shows.
